Verity by Colleen Hoover - Book review

Verity by Colleen Hoover is a psychological thriller that will keep you guessing until the very end. The story follows Lowen Ashleigh, a young writer who is hired to complete the unfinished works of Verity Crawford, a famous romance novelist who has been in a coma for over a year. Lowen quickly realizes that Verity is a complex and troubled woman, and she begins to question everything she thought she knew about her.

As Lowen reads Verity's manuscript, she is drawn into a dark and twisted world. The manuscript is full of violence, abuse, and incest, and Lowen begins to wonder if Verity is actually a reliable narrator. She also starts to suspect that Verity may not be the only one in danger.

The tension in Verity builds to a breaking point, and the reader is left with a number of unanswered questions. Who is the real Verity Crawford? What happened to her daughter, Merit? And what is the truth about Lowen's own past?

Verity is a well-written and suspenseful novel that will stay with you long after you finish reading it. The characters are complex and believable, and the plot is full of twists and turns. If you're a fan of psychological thrillers, then Verity is definitely worth reading.

Here are some of the things that I liked about Verity:

  1. The characters are complex and believable. Lowen is a relatable protagonist who is easy to root for. Verity is a fascinating and mysterious character who is both sympathetic and terrifying.
  2. The plot is full of twists and turns. I was never able to predict what was going to happen next.
  3. The writing is engaging and suspenseful. I couldn't put the book down.

Here are some of the things that I didn't like about Verity:

  1. The book is very dark and disturbing. There are some graphic scenes of violence and abuse.
  2. The ending is ambiguous and open to interpretation. Some readers may find this frustrating.
  3. The book contains some triggering content, including child abuse and incest.

Overall, I enjoyed Verity. It's a well-written and suspenseful novel that will stay with you long after you finish reading it. However, it's important to be aware of the dark and disturbing content before you read it.
